A Living Map of Our Stories
Our upcoming database will feature author profiles, story summaries, publication histories, magazine indices, and more — a searchable, user-friendly resource for readers, researchers, and publishers alike. Community members will also be able to contribute entries, updates, and corrections, helping us keep the resource current, accurate, and truly reflective of the community’s collective knowledge.
The database will also be an essential tool for science fiction researchers. It will offer scholars a foundation to trace the development of Bengali science fiction, study recurring themes, analyze the influence of global trends, and evaluate the contributions of key figures over the decades. For translators, publishers, and fans too, this platform will open new pathways for discovery and connection.
Preserve our Heritage
This work is vital because many of our early science fiction stories and their creators have already faded from public memory. Some pioneering authors and landmark tales were published in small magazines or ephemeral formats, and without urgent efforts to document them, their legacy risks being permanently lost. Our goal is not just to build a directory — but to revive and preserve a forgotten literary heritage.
Currently, the project is in its alpha stage — we are collecting data, developing the interface, and building the editorial guidelines. In the coming months, we will invite volunteers, experts, and early testers to help refine and grow the database. More updates will follow soon.
